Cloud Deployment Engineer
Are you an experienced Cloud Deployment Engineer, looking for an opportunity to work with a market leading and award-winning company?
The successful applicant will be responsible for the design and deployment of scalable, reliable and secure cloud infrastructure of clients software solutions.
Our client is looking for a skilled Cloud Engineer with skills in deployment to join their data and systems team, working on cutting edge software that is truly life saving. The main duties to the role are:
- Commissioning cloud infrastructure for the deployment of software solutions
- Architect, deploy and administer cloud environment e.g. Azure, AWS, UK Cloud and GCP.
- Co-ordinating software deployments
- Test and QA engineering
- Test and validate cloud platforms
- Interface with cloud infrastructure providers
- Attend (mainly remotely) customer review meetings in support of the Service Management team
- Improve the overall process. Design, implementation and deliver support documentation.
- Assist other member of the IT team with the support of internal cloud infrastructure
- Strive to minimise software downtime with a focus on software safety standards, faster upgrade, and minimising downtime

We’re looking for someone with a collaborative approach, who is also able to succeed within a culture with high levels of autonomy and responsibility.
Key skills required (a strong mix please):
- Hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, GCP and/or smaller cloud providers
- Cloud IaaS
- Kubernetes based cloud Platform such as RedHat OpenShift, Robio.io
- Linux Platform (Such as RHEL, UBUNTU, SUSE Linux etc.)
- Software/ Systems deployment OS on BareMetal
- CI/CD automation
- Skilled in creating available, resilient software deployments
- SQL Server
- Web Servers Apache, Apache Tomcat and Java Operating Environment
- Bash, batch scripting and PowerShell
- Some experience of storage configuration such as LUN, Storage Pool Configuration.
- VMware platforms
- KVM, ESXI etc
- Awareness of BGP, VxLAN
- Some experience of a change management environment
This vacancy is a remote home based role with occasional trips to the company office in Milton Keynes as agreed.
